THE FRIENDS OF BEDLAM GRANTS SCHEME

We've kept the cost of running of Friends of Bedlam to a minimum so that the vast majority of donations made by patrons can be put into the FoB Grants Fund and used to support student theatre in Edinburgh.

Current EUTC members are encouraged to propose projects for us to support (and can download the application form HERE). Project proposals are submitted to the EUTC committee who then pass them on to the FoB committee who award grants according to set criteria and the amounts of fund available.

The following guidlines are available for EUTC members looking for grants: FoB will only fund official EUTC projects that have been approved by the EUTC committee. In most cases, FoB will only fund future projects - ie projects that are yet to happen. FoB will not generally completely fund a project or purchase - we will expect the EUTC or an external body to cover at least 50% of the project's costs.

All donations to Friends of bedlam will be administered by the University of Edinburgh's Alumni Office's Development Fund. This ensures all donations are properly accounted for and allows us to claim gift aid from the government (which adds 28p to ever £ 1 donated). When grants are rewarded FoB will free up the relevant funds and EUTC will receive monies direct from the Development Fund.
