Hi All

Welcome to the monthly update of all things FoB. The news this
month is as follows:

Grant Award

FoB has awarded a grant of £200 to EUTC for a production of Equus by
Peter Shaffer. The money was specifically requested to build a piece of
revolving stage. It was an ambitious burst of creativity for which the
producer of the show had raised a substantial amount of money.
FoB "topped-up" their fundraising on the grounds of an innovative project
(the last revolve we could think of was for Dr Who a decade ago in Nov
1994) and the fact that it shows the new blood in the theatre what the
space is capable of.

Kids Project

FoB also received a request from the Kids Project (details on
www.bedlamtheatre.co.uk) for a contribution towards security clearance
costs for those members who are left alone in charge of the children.
Some very helpful FoB members pointed out that as an organisation with
charitable status, security clearance would be free of charge. This
perfectly illustrates the fact that FoB does not only exist as a funding
source!

Company Meetings

We had thought that receiving copies of the EUTC company and committee
meeting minutes would provide us with information that you all may find of
interest. As useful as the minutes are for EUTC, they're just a blast
from the past for us old folk. You'll be pleased to hear
that topics for discussion recently included:

1. Lack of staffing for the mainterms
2. The ongoing debate as to whether deposit cheques
   should actually be cashed or are they just an empty threat
3. The illusive key for the soap dispensers is still not on the
   duty managers keys
And finally...
4. The costume cupboard was found in a mess...twice!!



London Party - May 2005

To have the chance to relive all of the above and more, why not come
along to the next FoB London gathering? The date has now been confirmed
as Saturday 7th May 2005 (venue to be confirmed). We hope the date is a
good one as it has been specifically chosen to avoid bank holiday
weekends and, more importantly, the Eurovision song contest!



Pub Gatherings - Tomorrow night !

If you can't wait until then, the Edinburgh and London FoB groups meet on
the first Tuesday of every month - making the next two meetings Tuesday
7th December & Tuesday 4th January. The Edinburgh posse meet in
Cloisters (Tolcross) and the London posse will be in The Salisbury (St
Martin's Lane), both from 8pm. Details and maps on the Events

New Year in Edinburgh ?

If you happen to be in Edinburgh for the New Year celebrations, then why
not start your day with some free Improv at The Stand ?
"Whose Lunch is it Anyway", with Stand residents (and former bedlamites)
Paul Graham and Stuart Murphy is on from 28th Dec - 2nd Jan at 1pm-ish.
Fine food, and free Improv.
